From: 20060524 on 9 Mar 2010 19:59 I'm getting the following error when attempting to move a large file (~>50mb) to a parent folder within a document library using Explorer View: Unable to move http://<server>/<site>/<doclib>/<folder>/<file>. The file cannot be accessed. The file may not exist or may be in use or the web server is temporarily busy. SharePoint logs the action as follows: 3/9/10 4:36 PM w3wp.exe (0x18CC) 0x1080 Windows SharePoint Services General 72ng Medium RPC method = url to web url 3/9/10 4:36 PM w3wp.exe (0x18CC) 0x0838 Windows SharePoint Services General 72ng Medium RPC method = move document 3/9/10 4:36 PM w3wp.exe (0x18CC) 0x0838 Windows SharePoint Services General 72n4 Medium rename URL = Videos/Uploads/test.mpg 3/9/10 4:36 PM w3wp.exe (0x18CC) 0x0838 Windows SharePoint Services General 72n5 Medium rename to newUrl = Videos/test.mpg The error does not occur for files less than 50mb or if the file is copied instead of moved from the Uploads sub-folder to its parent Videos document library. Any help is appreciated, thanks!
From: Vaibhav Desai on 10 Mar 2010 00:13 Try adding the site as a map drive or copy the site url from the address bar and then open the site as a web folder. Check if you are able to move the file. If you are using IE8 web folder wont be available when you click on file -> open. Explorer view and web folder from the browser uses webdav in the backgroup. So we are just using the same technology in the background, but just trying an alternate route. Hope this helps. Regards, Vaibhav Desai
