It does take a little getting used to, yes. Once you have it set up and have become familiar with the way it works, however, you'll find it is one or the most feature-rich news clients available. Its filtering abilities (rules) in particular are arguably the best of them all. -- Send responses to the relevant news group rather than email to me. How "bad" is it at downloading binaries does it not support it or what?... I use unison for binaries quite a lot, i would say the same if not more than the newsgroups.

It supports it and it works well. It's just not quite as user friendly, I imagine.
