From: RixMcx on 18 May 2010 17:32 I took over a project and discovered there are no baseline4 finish dates in 96 tasks. We are calculating on bl4. Can you just enter the desired date? I was told this would cause problems. I would like to update bl4 using the date value from Finish . Thanks
From: Rob Schneider on 19 May 2010 00:35 I looked up in Help about Baseline4 fields. Entry type is documented as "calculated or entered" and it explains how it is calculated (by saving a baseline into that numbered baseline). You can read for yourself that article in Help and draw your own conclusions. My conclusion is that it will be ok for you to just enter dates into these Baseline4 fields since the documentation says you can. Perhaps whoever told you that this would cause problems should be consulted again. Find out *exactly* what problems are expected, and and get specifics about the impacts of those problems. My hunch is that there are no Project-caused projects, but maybe there are some issues related to your project that you need to flesh out? Everything I know says "no problem" but I would interrogate the naysayer another time. Try it. --rms www.rmschneider.com On 18/05/10 22:32, RixMcx wrote: > I took over a project and discovered there are no baseline4 finish dates in > 96 tasks. We are calculating on bl4.
