Please try this:
1. Click Start
2. Click Programs
3. Click Administrative Tools
4. Click Local Security Policy
5. Open "Local Policies"
6. Click on User Rights Assignment
7. Double-click the following item: "Back up files and directories"
8. Is the "Administrators" group added already to this Policy setting?
9. If not, click the Add button
10. Scroll down and find the local group: Administrators. Select them.
11. Click the Add button to add this group.
12. Click the OK button.
13. Now repeat step 8, verifying that Administrators are added to this
policy setting.
14. Click OK to leave the this particular policy, then close the Local
Security Settings window.
15. Reboot the machine.
16. After reboot, please try Windows Update again, only this time, please
try just one update to see if it works.
