From: Noob on 11 Feb 2010 14:14 I have a 2008R2 x64 Terminal Server and I need to allow users to run a .exe file. I keep getting the UAC warning and it wants a username and password. It is complaining about the publisher being unknown. This works for the admin account but I need it to work for normal users on this terminal server. I have raised the “Privilege Level” and changed the “Compatibility mode” and I have lowered UAC but I am not able to get by this. There was an old KB article but that was pulled so no luck there and I do not want to turn off UAC. Is a way to get this to work?
From: RCan on 12 Feb 2010 16:53 Hi Noob, in R2 presentation services there are several granular options to customize the UAC control: More details can be found -> UAC @ Technet http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc772207%28WS.10%29.aspx Regards Ramazan "Noob" <Noob(a)discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:0BBFC0A1-42C0-44D2-ADC7-A735E98E51D5(a)microsoft.com... > I have a 2008R2 x64 Terminal Server and I need to allow users to run a > .exe > file. From: Vera Noest [MVP] on 13 Feb 2010 10:16 Check if this helps: When users start a program, they get a security warning: "The publisher could not be verified. From: Noob on 15 Feb 2010 10:59 Yes, users get that popup and it wants a username and password. I went through that link, made the setting changes, but a normal user still can not run the .exe "Vera Noest [MVP]" wrote: > Check if this helps: > > When users start a program, they get a security warning: "The > publisher could not be verified. And I assume that the application is located on a network share, is that correct? Have you checked the permissions on the share? Can users connect to the share in Explorer without being asked for their username and password? _________________________________________________________ Vera Noest MCSE, CCEA, Microsoft MVP - Terminal Services RDS troubleshooting: http://ts.veranoest.net =?Utf-8?B?Tm9vYg==?= <Noob(a)discussions.microsoft.com> wrote on 15 feb 2010 in microsoft.public.windows.terminal_services: > Yes, users get that popup and it wants a username and password. > > I went through that link, made the setting changes, but a normal > user still can not run the .exe > > > "Vera Noest [MVP]" wrote: > >> Check if this helps: >> >> When users start a program, they get a security warning: "The >> publisher could not be verified.
