From: Ottar Ryen on 18 Mar 2010 09:50 XP Pro SP3. Login screen shows only one user "Andreas". When logged in his "Documents" show the content of a folder "bruker" (means "user") in Documents and settings. The folder "Andreas" is there, too, with folder structure and no documents. Control Panel/Users shows Andreas (administrator), Gjest (=Guest, inactive) and one other user ASP.NET Machine A..(limited and password protected) Trying to install a speech synthesis program (Voxit Budgie Pro 2.0) as Andreas works all right until the point of acticating licenses. The procedure aquires a start of the program as an administrator and the licenses should be active when the specified license files are placed in th correct directory, as they are. It seems that the normal start of the program is not on administrative level as the licenses (voices) are not active. There is a description that if this should be done on Vista, there is a need to right click the program and "Run as" specifying the administrator in order to activate the voices. Even if this method should not be neccessary for xp, I was trigged to try, and the "Run as"-dialog shows that the current user is "ANDERS/bruker" (anders is the name of the computer) and trying to change give the choises "Administrator" and "bruker", the first one aquiring the password and after that givng the message that a file rssoloapi.dll is missing. However a file of that name is to be found in the folder Voxit/Budgie Pro 2.0/speech/components/common I am the IT assisting teacher for the young student owning this computer. From where could this user "bruker" come and what is it I should do to regain the administrator privilegies to andreas?
