From: CJB on 29 Apr 2010 10:00 I have just tried the R2S service and called my netbook from my mobile phone. Skpye immediately started to ring. HOWEVER my Three S2 is charging off-line at home. But what happens if the S2 is switched on and logged into Skype. Hmm - I bet the S2 grabs the call, then if there is no answer immediately diverts it to Three voicemail. Then I'd have to pay 10p a minute to listen to whatever message is left. So much for 'free.' And what if the Three voicemail 'divert' is set off. Does the S2 AND the netbook / laptop ring at the same time? Or does the S2 still grab the call? There seems to be a number of scenarios that need testing for. CJB.

Yes, it will do. It is nothing to do with R2S though. It will happen for any Skype call >Then I'd have to pay 10p a > minute to listen to whatever message is left. So much for 'free.' As far as I know calling 3 voicemaul is free > And what if the Three voicemail 'divert' is set off. Does the S2 AND > the netbook / laptop ring at the same time? It is not very satisfactory, I complained to 3, but i do not expect them to do anything about it too quickly. The only other way which could/should work would be to log off Skype on 3 before turning it to off. I have not tried that divoch

I have not tried > that > divoch Tried calling from my Giffgaff phone to my S2 via my new R2S no. 0208... But it didn't work at first 'cos although I'd set up ring2skype.net in my Skype Contacts on main laptop this hadn't sync'd with the S2. I had to log the S2 out of Skype then back in. Tried again and it worked OK. BUT ... Giffgaff charged me 8p each for both trial calls. Not cheap!! My close friend has Giffgaff too - so we can talk for free. So I'm not sure what the benefits of R2S actually are. They do now have my Skype id., and also my main email address. So I expect that I will get spammed by them sooner or later. I guess that's where they get their revenue from. However as with any incoming calls to Skype if they get grabbed by Three voicemail I will have to pay 10p a minute to retrieve any message(S) - again not cheap either. And despite frequent requests Three have still to switch 'Divert' off for me. But then the loss of a voicemail service will be a major irritation. The S2 and Mickey Mouse and Three all in the same sentence seems commensurate terms. But then that does MM and Disney a disfavour. CJB. CJB.

And so unless you're actually holding the thing - and looking it at it - you have no other indication that there is an incoming call. CJB
