From: Tom Edelbrok on 16 Oct 2009 12:39 I was running VB6.0 SP4 for years and then at some point installed Visual Studio 2003, then VS2005. I noticed recently that I'm on VB6.0 with no service pack, but should be on SP4. I guess I rebuilt my machine at some point and forgot to install SP4 over VB6.0. But now when I try to do this I get the following error: "Setup cannot find the Visual Studio common directory setting on this machine. To restore this directory setting, you must install or reinstall any Visual Studio product. For more information, see "Installation" in Readme.htm." I don't want to re-install VS2003, and then the VS2005 upgrade - it takes forever. Is there a simpler way of just getting SP4 installed on VB6.0? Thanks, Tom

Is there a simpler way of just getting SP4 installed on VB6.0? What OS are you using? If it's Vista or after, you need to use Run As Admin. You can also try installing SP6. SP5 is no longer downloadable from MS. There is a link to SP5 in the download page below, but it's for the runtime files only.
