Hi all

I've just known VO 2.6 and I have done some simple tools using .dbf
file.

Now, I want to improve my tools and I want to start to use SQL with
Oracle.
First, I suppose that I have to convert my .dbf into.sql file
then I have to change my project.

How can I use Oracle with my application?
Is this difficult to implement?
Can I use the SQL editor instead DB sever editor?

What is Vo2Ado? is it useful?

I'm a little confused.

Thanks in advance

Best Regards

Hai,

You could use VO2Oracle, but it is quite expensive (9999,00 $).
VO2Ado uses the standard window way to communicate with other databases like
Oracle, Acces, MS-Sql etc. It works very well and is actively supported by
Robert from SAS Software.
Try the samples found on your 2.6 CD, it is all there.

Hai,
It was freeware a at 2.7a nd created by Thomas Olchowsky (I do not remember
the name that well)
I did an app for AT&T those days with Oracle that worked very well.
Then it was sold to Electric People i can remember and they wanted 9999 for
every coipt. Terje Barman knows more about this. The classes however were
very very well!

Here's a page saying tyhat is existed, but appearently the website is out of
the air right now.
http://www.abak.cz/cavo/VOADDON.htm

The company does exist however, do not know what has happened to the add-on.
It used the API. Perhaps try to track down Thomas..
