Thanks for the positive replies on VO and Terminal Services.

I thought maybe there were some settings on Terminal Services that may
affect things.

There must be more to what they're doing before they get these errors so
I'll check that out and probably put some audit tracking in the system to
try and trace the problem.

Anyone know what line 1150 refers to? (I guess it maybe part of the RDD - I
use DBFCDX)

John - the IVar message makes no sense in this situation either - It points
back to the standard VO dispatch method for the shell window. It must be
some sort of memory clearup issue. I'll let you know if I find the cause.

Hi Simon,

As it seems that you are using DBFCDX, don't forget to check the
antivirus (particulary if you have the .exe and .dbf/.cdx/.fpt
in different machines : excluding these extensions resolved it
in customers' sites) and as John wrote, check the locking system.

HTH,

Hi Phil,

Thats a good point - I'll check out the Anti-virus.

I've put some logging into their system now so hopefully I can track whats
going on.

Found the cause of the Assertion Failed message.

All my fault!

My browsers allow the user to sort columns and creates a temporary index
file on the local drive. On terminal server this is the same location for
all users. So one user was overwriting anothers index file. Not suprisingly
the first user was getting the assertion message when trying to refresh the
list.

Hi Simon
this is the reason why in my apps each user has his own folder
:)
