Hi,

I am using Visual Studio 2003 for the development of Reporting Services 2000
Reports.

After I did a WindowsXP System Restore to a previous date (just 2 days back)
I encountered the following problem on attempting to open any RDL file within
VS2003.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Microsoft Development Environment is unable to load this document:
Deserialization failed: The type initializer for
"Microsoft.ReportDesigner.Drawing.Language" threw an exception.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Please can someone assist!

FYI - I have VS2003, VS2005, SQL Server 2000 (SP4), Reporting Services (SP2)
installed on my machine.

Also, I have done a search on the web for this problem but no answers are
available. Among other suggestions posted that others did try were to
reinstall Reporting Services, VS2003 etc... but all these suggestions did not
help.

Many thanks in advance,
Marty

You say re-installing did not work. Have you tried uninstalling RS report
designer and VS 2003 and then install VS 2003 and RS Report Designer? Just
doing a reinstall without first uninstalling does not always fix things in
my experience.
