note from postman: postage due item at sorting office in town

turns out to be from Vectone, 2 SIMs in an envelope with the wrong
stamps on for the weight, so costs me over £1

put SIM in phone, and a screen message says Please wait

for 3 days

restart phone a few times, and on the 4th go the SIM eventually
registers on the network, after about 3 minutes

2nd SIM never connects, never says registration failed, nothing

calls to customer services:

4 calls go to voicemail, but they never call back

5 calls get put in a call queue, which cuts off after 15 to 20 minutes

so I don't think you're likely to see much discussion on here

This was an offer 'until 31st December 2009'. They've now extended it until
31st March 2010, but it's unclear what will happen afterwards.

I think more than a few people are wary of these short-term offers. In
particular, some of their other offers are rather jumping-through-hoops: '1p
international calls' give you cheap mins on Saturdays and Sundays when you
have topped up in the previous 7 days. Unless you already make a large
volume of chargeable calls, it's quite hard to make use of that on a regular
basis. The other offers are innovative (free roaming is handy), but they
might all disappear in a few weeks.

Free roaming is indeed interesting, and this has appeared on their
other country SIMs for quite a while

- which is why I asked them 2 and a half years ago how soon they would
be launching in UK

They seem to have appalling customer service,
worth paying a few pence more for a service that works
