The vertical amp IC is usually a SIP attached to a heatsink, around 9
pins or so.

Replace the electrolytic capacitors in the neighbourhood of this IC.

Typical part number prefixes are TA (Toshiba), AN (Matsushita,
Panasonic), LA (Sanyo).
