From: AMarshall on 1 Apr 2010 11:35 I recently changed out motherboards in a secondary computer to an ASUS P5KPL-CM; Nvidia G8600 video card, intel 6400 Core2 Duo Processor. Windows XP Pro Service Pack 3 runs okay, except when I try to load a hard drive image within Virtual PC. I primarly use Virtual PC 2004 but I get the same error if I uninstall that and load Virtual PC 2007 instead. All I can read of the error is IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL because the BSOD just flashes momentarily and then the computer reboots. I've swapped out video cards, memory, and hard drives. I've loaded only basic (motherboard and video card) drivers and tried it with drivers and all windows updates; same thing; I can start Virtual PC but as soon as the Virtual OS starts up the BSOD appears and the computer reboots. Reason -- ALM
From: Robert Comer on 1 Apr 2010 22:51 That error is either a bad driver or bad hardware unfortunately... -- Bob Comer <Microsoft MVP - Virtual Machine> "AMarshall" <junk7of9(a)gmail.com> wrote in message news:DB1D9BA1-99EA-4014-98D5-41720FA9C391(a)microsoft.com... > I recently changed out motherboards in a secondary computer to an ASUS > P5KPL-CM; Nvidia G8600 video card, intel 6400 Core2 Duo Processor. > Windows > XP Pro Service Pack 3 runs okay, except when I try to load a hard drive > image > within Virtual PC.
