In my case, I prefer VirtualBox as there is a portable version. Can't
help you with compare/contrast with VMware Player as I haven't used it
for quite a while.

I haven't used VMWare for a long time so I can't make any valid
comparisons.VirtualBox does what I need, mostly playing with other
distros. I use the binaries not the OSE
version for the USB support.

I found a portable VirtualBox at http://www.vbox.me/. Which one do
you use? Is there an official portable version?

v3.1.6 from the site you mention.
I am not aware of an official version.

Thanks. I just tried to create an XP VM on my Vista.
The VM doesn't detect my Wifi, it lists only the fixed
network adapter. A quick search with Google has
found quite a few posts about the same problem.
But I couldn't find a solution that works for me. I have
no problem with VMplayer on the same machine.
Have you seen similar problems?
