From: Jerry Martin on 29 Jan 2010 20:44 Hello: I think that I'm more confused after reading this thread. What security or malware program was causing the "Windows Security Alert"/"Windows Web Security" window to pop up in the original post here? Was it MS Windows Defender, MS Security Essentials, or some malware posing as legitimate security software? Is there any reason not to use and do a scan with MS Security Essentials? Are the replies here saying that Malwarebytes is a superior anti-malware program than MSE? From: Jerry Martin on 29 Jan 2010 20:50 Hello Again: I also wanted to ask if MS Security Essentials and Malwarebytes can be used together? Yes, you can run both. Running scans with more than one anti-spyware program (not simultaneously) is a good idea, since none of them is perfect. -- Ken Blake, Microsoft MVP (Windows Desktop Experience) since 2003 Please Reply to the Newsgroup |
