From: HLE on 29 Jan 2010 10:57 I would like to reset my smartphone back to factory status, but worry about losing key information. When I sync a virginized unit, will these files be re-installed? Contacts Call history Notes To-Do Tasks Calendar Thanks!

I have used a program called PIM Backup to do the above but if all I want to backup is Contacts, Call History, Notes and Favorites then there is no need for a special program since all those can be easily copied or moved to a memory card.
From: Clinton Fitch on 30 Jan 2010 11:07 Hello, Assuming that you have some sort of connection with Outlook (ActiveSync/Windows Mobile Device Center) or Exchange (for over-the-air sync) then yes, all of your PIM data that is sync'd with that solution will return once you re-sync it. You will also need to make sure that any files/data outside of PIM data is backed up as well as that will have to be manually reinstalled by you via WMDC or ActiveSync. This can be done when your Phone is connected to your PC. Also make sure you get things like Pictures if you have them. Hope this helps, Clinton -- Clinton Fitch Microsoft MVP - Mobile http://blog.clintonfitch.com "HLE" <notagurudelete(a)gmail.com> wrote in message news:hjv0h6$2tn$1(a)news.eternal-september.org... > I would like to reset my smartphone back to factory status, but worry > about losing key information. > > When I sync a virginized unit, will these files be re-installed? > > Contacts > Call history > Notes > To-Do Tasks > Calendar > > > Thanks!
