One thing you could perhaps do is simply uninstall WSUS 2, delete
any files it may leave behind, and start fresh with 3.0. The data from 2
isn't particularly valuable; it would simply be regenerated with WSUS 3. In
reinstalling, you may be able to relocate the data files, but they would be
"zeroed out" in any case. While I have my gripes with WSUS, it beats "every
man for himself" Windows Update by far.

If I uninstalled WSUS v2 (which is on C:), and installed WSUS v3 (on
D:), would that cause any issues? How would it know which workstations
to keep up-to-date?
