From: Harry on 29 Jan 2010 23:26 An attachment emailed to me is a .pln file that the sender claims to open with Word. My computer does not recognise this file. I tried the Microsoft web search for a solution which recommended RegCure. But RegCure didn't do anything. What is a pln file and how can I open one? -- Harry
From: ANONYMOU S on 29 Jan 2010 23:52 Its could be a Canon photo file. You can try inserting the file in your word document rather than just openiong it. I don't know what version of Word you are using so I can't give you the instructions here. Alternatively, try opening the file in your browser like IE8 or Mozilla/Firefox. hth "Harry" <Harry(a)discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:66397AB2-3182-43E7-88B5-AF08CAFB57D8(a)microsoft.com... > An attachment emailed to me is a .pln file that the sender claims to open > with Word. From: Susan Ramlet on 30 Jan 2010 12:09 A Google search suggests these could be WordPerfect spreadsheet files. Perhaps your sender has a version of Word that contains converters for WordPerfect files, where you don't--hence the difference. -- Susan Ramlet -- please reply to the newsgroup so all may benefit. From: Harry on 1 Feb 2010 03:50 Thanks, Susan. You could be right. I tried downloading a file extension "fix-all" programme - but it said my computer had no problem with the .pln extension! I'm destined not to win this one. -- Harry "Susan Ramlet" wrote: > A Google search suggests these could be WordPerfect spreadsheet files. > Perhaps your sender has a version of Word that contains converters for > WordPerfect files, where you don't--hence the difference. > > -- > Susan Ramlet > -- > please reply to the newsgroup so all may benefit. > > "Harry" <Harry(a)discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message > news:66397AB2-3182-43E7-88B5-AF08CAFB57D8(a)microsoft.com... > > An attachment emailed to me is a .pln file that the sender claims to open > > with Word. Thanks for your suggestions - regrettably neither worked. Suspect Susan is right & its an ancient WordPerfect file. -- Harry "ANONYMOU S" wrote: > Its could be a Canon photo file.
