From: Bikini Browser on 19 Jan 2010 10:26 Hello... I have a customer with SBS 2008 Standard. I have setup DRIVE MAPS in the Group Policy Mangement Editor under User Preferances. My question is, what does the red triangle mean over drive maps in preferances server 2008? There is a little red triangle over the Drive ICON to the left of the Drive Letter I setup. Anyone have any ideas what that means? I am concerned because it is RED like warning or an error...? From: Cliff Galiher - MVP on 19 Jan 2010 11:03 The various symbols are indications how the drive is created. In your case, you chose "replace" (as I recall red is replace, yellow is update, etc.) Replace mode works by existing the existing mapping (the same as if you set it to remove) and then doing a new create mapping (same as the create setting) which has the net effect of obliterating any settings that may have been pushed out by another group policy preference such as customized settings, etc. So yes, it is a warning of sorts, but not a concern if you know what your other group policies are doing and if you are okay with the old mapping getting destroyed each time. -Cliff "Bikini Browser" <delete.bikini.this.browser(a)gmail.com> wrote in message news:eU43XvRmKHA.1824(a)TK2MSFTNGP04.phx.gbl... > Hello... > > I have a customer with SBS 2008 Standard. > > I have setup DRIVE MAPS in the Group Policy Mangement Editor under User > Preferances. > > My question is, what does the red triangle mean over drive maps in > preferances server 2008? > > There is a little red triangle over the Drive ICON to the left of the > Drive Letter I setup. > > Anyone have any ideas what that means? From: Peter Foldes on 19 Jan 2010 12:48 It is a warning of sorts that tells you that the drive is being replaced and you are aware of your Group Policies and their implications. -- Peter Please Reply to Newsgroup for the benefit of others Requests for assistance by email can not and will not be acknowledged.
