Or you can delete it from both Mac and iPod, in which case yes, you can
re-download and re-install it for free.

Yes, assuming it doesn't disappear from the store in the meantime - eg
Delicious Library had to be pulled from the iTunes Store because Amazon
changed their T&Cs

Unfortunately, if it is removed from the iPhone (by either of the above
methods) all the data associated with it is lost. Worth bearing in mind.

Not that I'm aware of, unless you jailbreak.

That's an insane amount. Have you told it to delete old posts? It's in
the download tab. What constitutes "old" is defined in the iPhone
settings app.

Yes, but you lose all the data associated with it.

Depending on what exactly is going on, and whether you synced and backed up
before the restore, there's a chance that the Restore put all the associated
files back again.

I've recently discovered there was some destrucive cruft lurking on my
iPhone, and every Restore-from-backup simply restored it. The only way I
could get the phone working again was to restore the system software, but
*not* the backup (ie. set the iPhone up as a new phone) and then reinstall
all the programs one by one. I lost all the associated data from all my apps,
but the phone is at last working properly again.
