From: Greg N. on 4 Nov 2009 10:55 My CCC says, I have Driver packaging version 8.64-090714a1-086600E-ATI CCC Version 2009.0714.2132.36830 What driver version does that correspond to, in download package nomenclature, for instance, 6.1 ... 9.10? -- Gregor mit dem Motorrad auf Reisen http://hothaus.de/greg-tour/

Mine says 9.10 and not CCC Version 2009.0714.2132.36830. Are you using an interim driver provided by AMD for 5xxx series cards? I had that driver for a bit but now the official Cat 9.10 is good with my 5870. With official 9.10 driver it should look the same as below. Driver Packaging Version 8.661-090923a1-083743C-ATI Catalyst Version 09.10 <<this is the driver version Provider ATI Technologies Inc. 2D Driver Version 8.01.01.961 2D Driver File Path /REGISTRY/MACHINE/SYSTEM/ControlSet001/Control/CLASS/{4D36E968-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}/0000 Direct3D Version 8.14.10.0700 OpenGL Version 6.14.10.9026 Catalyst Control Center Version 2009.0925.1707.28889

I have downloaded and tried a number of drivers from the ATI web site, ranging from the latest (9.10) to some very old (6.x, none of them worked. Finally I tried the one from the CD that was shipped with the card (Radeon 3650). That one worked. Yes, I know, I should have tried the supplied CD first. Anyway, that's how it came off the CD. Not a version number that corresponds to the stuff at the ATI site. -- Gregor mit dem Motorrad auf Reisen http://hothaus.de/greg-tour/

If you enter the right OS and card you have into the driver download site then the driver you get should work fine.

Look here: http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/windows/previous/Pages/radeonaiw_xp.aspx and it seems to show you have 9.8 driver package. (8.64) |
