E-mail sent to this address may be devoured by my very hungry SPAM filter. Due to Google's refusal to prevent spammers from posting messages through their servers, I often ignore posts from Google Groups. Use a real news client if you want me to see your posts. JR

It appears that there are at least two, maybe three, monster threads about iPads which are cross-posted to .advocacy. They have several hundred, possibly as many as a thousand, posts each, and I never knew they were around until I checked to see all the headers _before_ my killfile kicked in. In more relevant, non-trolling, iPad news, it seems that those who were going to wait until iPads actually show up so that they can look at them before buying, will have to wait a while. Apple seems to have 270,000 pre-orders for iPads and only had 250,000 available for the first week. I suspect that one reason for this is that the competition stinks. I was in a Barnes & Nobles yesterday, and finally got a chance to examine a 'Nook' close up... and whoever designed it should be shot. -- email to oshea dot j dot j at gmail dot com.
