These resolution tests are rather meaningless, because they were
performed with black and white test targets.

But it's the limiting factor for an 18MP APS-C DSLR. Not that many
lenses around which are good enough for such a camera.

David likes the sound of his own voice. He purports to have some
detailed high level knowledge of the workings of digital sensors.

However, his only relevant experience was gained using a low-end Nikon
DSLR and a consumer grade zoom lens. As a result, his signal/noise
ratio is very low indeed, approximating to that of an average wasp.

it's obvious that the layers need to be the same thickness across the
entire surface of the sensor, otherwise the colour response would vary,
depending on which part of the image. that's why they have to calibrate
every single camera. bayer has no such problem.
