From: Maxx Chatsko on 9 Aug 2010 14:35 Hello all, Does anyone know a way around the Windows 7 bug with Matlab R2010a for path and default folder? The paths do not save after closing Matlab and the default folder cannot be chosen (can it?). I am running the student version but I heard of this happening in the regular version as well. Thank you Maxx

If you have problems with changing the starting folder (userpath), take a look at these links: http://www.mathworks.com/access/helpdesk/help/techdoc/matlab_env/f8-10506.html#f8-12991 (change of start-up folder) http://www.mathworks.com/access/helpdesk/help/techdoc/ref/userpath.html You could also take a look at this link; http://www.mathworks.com/access/helpdesk/help/techdoc/matlab_env/br7ppws-1.html#br8cjwl-1 which I think will solve your problem (I have a feeling you're trying to add specific directories to the search path by right-clicking and selecting "add to path" - this will only add them to the search path for the current session). - D.
