No, I don't know how to do that. Why ever have it enabled? Why not
just keep it disabled? You can have a static background. Pick one you
like and stick with it.

You are like those movie villains who have some wildly elaborate scheme
for killing the hero. Why not just use a knife? And if he asks you to
first explain your plan for world domination, just say no.

Here's another thing I don't understand: why have widgets? I have Win7
and could have widgets if I wanted them, but I can find no motivation
to want them.

I believe the actual objective is to maximize gaming performance - yes?
I am sympathetic and I actually want to help.

There are many ways to achieve this. There are hundreds of thousands of
web sites about it. The most basic Google search will list many of them.

I play games that are pretty forgiving - World of Warcraft, and Dragon
Age are the two I am playing right now. I actually did do some research
and give the matter much thought for my own sake, but I arrived at an
alternative philosophy about such things. I don't agree with the OP's
idea about how to achieve gaming nirvana. Nevertheless, I am
sympathetic and am trying to help.

I am not familiar with the game that the OP mentioned. Is there
something special about it, that makes it demanding in any particular way?

I admit I am a little curious to learn more about the OP's computer.
What's he got under the hood, I wonder? What kind of an internet
connection does he have I wonder? This being a computer enthusiast's
forum, I think it's only natural for me to wonder such things. I
believe such things weigh in the balance when one considers this
question. I might be wrong, but that is currently my belief.

Yeah, I'm not particularly wow'd by any of the options myself...
