This "forum" is actually not a forum at all, but a "newsgroup". Nor is it
the proper newsgroup for Windows Live Messenger. You want:

news://msnews.microsoft.com/microsoft.public.windows.live.messenger

For those who absolutely must use a web browser (despite a news client being
the better method of access):
