From: Marconi on 14 Jun 2005 17:16 I got this error when I try to install Windows NT Workstation on VPC2004: STOP 0x0000003e (0x00000000 0x00000000 0x00000000) p5-0000 irql:1e SYSVER 0xf0000565 Hardware: Pentium4 HT 3.2Ghz. I know it is related to multiprocessing. I have disabled HT in BIOS. Same error. If you could shed some light... Thanks in advance, Marconi

Make sure that you're not assigning more than 64MB when installing. Eariler versions of NT will not install on modern hardware. -- Cheers, Steve Jain, Virtual Machine MVP Website: http://www.essjae.com "This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights. From: Richard Cardona on 14 Jun 2005 22:58 I've also had more success installing NT if the capacity of the Guest VM hard disk <=2Gb. From: Robert Comer on 15 Jun 2005 09:39 Have you installed Virtual PC SP1 yet? Make sure and do that and set the RAM to 64M for the install. -- Bob Comer "Marconi" <Marconi(a)discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:672A6D43-F48F-441A-8B11-FA706377AA9A(a)microsoft.com... >I got this error when I try to install Windows NT Workstation on VPC2004: > > STOP 0x0000003e (0x00000000 0x00000000 0x00000000) > p5-0000 irql:1e SYSVER 0xf0000565 > > Hardware: Pentium4 HT 3.2Ghz. > I know it is related to multiprocessing. I set it to 128MB RAM, 4096MB VHD, sound disabled, standard resolutions only.
