whenever I try to use windows update I get the following error from the
website:

[Error number: 0x80092026]
The website has encountered a problem and cannot display the page you are
trying to view. The options provided below might help you solve the problem.

Has anyone else gotten this error message, and if so how did you solve the
problem?

Windows and Defender versions? Can you access and use Windows Update
website? Is Automatic Updates enabled and working properly?

Defender final was released on 23 Oct-06; Defender is no longer supported in
Win2K. Support for Defender Beta2 ended 31 Dec-06. Upgrade ASAP if you've
not done so already:

See this KB article which has many suggestions & tips:

Microsoft has established separate newsgroups for Windows Defender support
and comments. This is not one of them.

I do not have Defender on my computer, never downloaded it. the version of
windows I am using is XP Multimedia Center 2002 SP2. I can access and use the
Windows Update website, but I keep getting the error that I stated before.
the website tells me that it is going to check to see if I have a real
version of windows then I get the error that I stated before and Automatic
Updates is enabled and working properly.
