That's somewhat intriguing. What are you doing, maximizing the app within the VM? Any links that I could use to get a better idea about this feature? -- ..NET: It's About Trust! http://vfred.mvps.org
From: John Daintree on 26 Oct 2009 05:47 Hi Karl, I don't think I'm doing anything unusual. I start the VM, which is a fairly "clean" XP installation, and then launch our install bootstrapper , which is just a dialog based (so not full screen) installer. The bootstrap binary is located on our local network. It takes an age for the install GUI to show, and then installing the MSIs (also on the network drive) takes even longer. I'm assuming an update to Windows 7 will fix this, but I'll probably not notice now that I've un-installed Windows Virtual PC. If I stumble across anythng online I'll post it here. /john "Karl E. From: ssarthur2 on 24 Nov 2009 13:26 The new one also offers improved drive mapping. I am finding it easier to move files in and out of the VM using the mapped drives. However, they took away the capability to simply drag files in and out of the VM. This feature was buggy in VPC 2007, but why not fix it instead of taking it away? Also, I am having problem with Windows VPC not responding. Occasionally, the VM seems to simply stop responding and I will have to sit and wait for 3 - 4 seconds for it to come back. This will drive me back to VPC 2007, if I can't find a work around. If there is a work-around, it is worth staying on WVPC, in my opinion. "Karl E. I have the same exact problem you cant opperate a bitt torrent inside them anymore because the network access is so horrible. and simple filesharing become unstable and explorer crashes while testing software builds of my network apps. -- lenkd |
