From: kp400sf1 on 8 Apr 2010 17:23 I have my Windows XP screensaver set to kick-in after 6 minutes; when I get back to work there is a delay of 10 -15 seconds before it comes out of the screensaver whether I move the mouse or touch the enter key or touch the mousepad. This is on a laptop so turning off the monitor instead of using the screensaver isn't really a option for me...

You can set the Power Options ( Screen Saver tab> Power button) to turn off the monitor after x minutes on a laptop just as easily as on a desktop. Re: your screen saver question, have you tried a different screen saver? It may just be the one you're using that causes the delay you see. Also, if you have an anti-virus app that is set to scan the system when the screen saver is on, it can cause a delay like that also. -- Glen Ventura, MS MVP Oct. 2002 - Sept. 2009 A+ http://dts-l.net/
