From: r!chmond on 29 Dec 2006 09:02 I noticed only recently that Windows Automatic Update had failed to download and install updates automatically starting October 13. I identified the error: h1XAJNaO and followed the methods (where possible) in KB822798. That had the unfortunate effect of temporarily making my copy of Windows XP appear invalid (soon fixed)! However, I could not fix the toital absence of the Cryptographic Service and the fact that the crypt root certificates were not as described in every case in the KB article or that described in KB293781. I would appreciate some advice on how to fix this impediment to updating Windows and installing IE7 without having reinstall the system (I have only an OEM recovery CD). TIA
