I said uninstall the driver... and you will be prompted you to confirm uninstall driver with the option delete the driver. Read the following carefully... Install the device driver that does NOT work properly, I repeat that does NOT work. Then once it's installed, uninstall and opt to delete the driver. That will cleanly remove the new driver (that doesn't work) from Windows and will no longer be referenced when you reconnect the bluetooth headphones... assuming you do it correctly. It may ask you for drivers at least once and then point it to the old drivers that did work. If it does ask again, point it to C:\Windows\System32\DriverStore That's where Windows keeps the drivers that are installed. After that it shouldn't ask you for the drivers again. Assuming it's all done properly.
From: jpyllman on 14 Oct 2009 14:45 Hi, I did exactly that. The problem is that as soon as I install the old that is working it installs the update. Even if I answered NO every time it asked me. And I made sure the update changed from required to optional and unmarked for update. Now when I restart it is again marked as required and as something I should install and has not installed. But it has already made the installed one stop working. From: jpyllman on 14 Oct 2009 15:05 I was partly wrong. It seemed to have loaded the newer version of the driver. But I only hade to delete again. I guess if I find the files on the disk and remove them they will not be loaded again. On Oct 14, 8:45 pm, jpyllman <jpyll...(a)gmail.com> wrote: > Hi, > > I did exactly that. From: jpyllman on 14 Oct 2009 15:20 And at this last reboot it stuck to the older driver. I wonder if it will at the next. I also have this problem. The device in question is a Motorola Soundpilot S705, which I guess is some cheap piece of OEM junk judging by the drivers. Still, hopefully Microsoft will fix this update soon so we don't have to play around with this driver nonsense. I did something akin to your instructions below and things are working now, but we'll see if it lasts. Thanks for the help, though!
