Some of the Linux versions of OOo can do this, and there are also free
programs out there that convert the files to the Office 2003 formats
that OOo can then use (.doc, .xls, etc.). If you Google for Works file
conversion, you should find something helpful.

The NoGo builds of OOo will do that.
OxygenOffice Professional is probably the easiest one to find for
Windows.http://sourceforge.net/projects/ooop/

I_think_ that NoGo is the default build for most Linux distros.

Hi Sarah, Johnathon

Johnathon is correct, although he did make a small typo there.

You will find a version of OpenOffice.org that will read word files at
http://go-oo.org/download

The OxygenOffice package that Johnathon mentions is also based
on the code from http://go-oo.org however is not quite as current,
(for example they are currently one full release cycle behind, and
about to be two) it does however offer many extras, in the way
of clip-art and templates.

Best wishes,

Drew
