We are looking in installing wsus on our domain is this best on domain
controller or a member server?

Hello Jason,

Use a member server, domain controllers should only do there basic jo, AD/DNS/GC
and if no member server exist DHCP, that's it for a DC.

Agreed. Then again if no member server exists, WSUS will work on a DC. But
it's sort of a last choice.

For that matter, WSUS alone doesn't get much in the way of even being a
domain member. A standalone server works perfectly well too. It is better to
decide first and then install WSUS after.
