In the future you may wish to use the classic method of uppercase and lowercase lettering. So - your "Windows XP" (Windows XP _______ Edition with Service Pack _?) system has been infested/infected with some unknown malware and you are getting some error (What is the exact wording of the error you are getting?) when trying to boot into normal or safe modes? What is the make/model of the computer? Where is the original media and instructions/invoices that came with the computer in question? How about the backups of said material? How are your backups - or have you not been making periodic and consistent backups (floppy diskette copies of your personal stuff, CD/DVD copies of your stuff, external or network drive copies of your stuff and/or the whole computer, etc..)? You obviously have access to another computer - is that a safe assumption? -- Shenan Stanley MS-MVP -- How To Ask Questions The Smart Way http://www.catb.org/~esr/faqs/smart-questions.html
