From: John on 30 May 2010 10:34 I have an original XP Pro operating system. I have found that it will not use a large hard drive properly. It will not format a drive larger than a 132Gb. It does not matter if the drive is SATA or IDE. I have a later version of XP Home. This OS works properly. Can XP Pro be updated or fixed some other way. I do not want to update to Windows7 yet. Can someone help me please.

You need to update WinXP to at least SP1 before it can handle larger hard drives. Go to their website and download the bios update. If it is Intel, they have a bios update that runs in windows. After you do the bios update the problem will be solved.

He needs to slipstream SP1 (at least) to get large disk support.
