From: Saurabh Mahapatra on 3 Aug 2010 07:32 These are my thoughts: 1. Try the Steam Turbine and Governor block in SimPowerSystems: Internals of this block can be seen here. gmax/gmin are parameters of this block that you can set/vary: http://www.mathworks.com/access/helpdesk/help/toolbox/physmod/powersys/ref/steamturbineandgovernor.html 2. Try this demo that ships with SimPowerSystems: >>power_thermal The online version is here: http://www.mathworks.com/products/simpower/demos.html?file=/products/demos/shipping/powersys/power_thermal.html 3. If you click on the Web View in the online version above, you can see that gmax and gmin are parameters that appear as parameters reg3 in the Steam Turbine/Governor block. 4. Thoughts on the demo: The sub-synchronous resonance is being amplified by the fault but this is something you should see in general. In fact, an interesting problem that I can think of is to study w this phenomenon impacts the performance of wind turbines as wind speed/direction is changed. Now, that I think of it-I would expect to see the same in HEVs as well.. Thanks, Saurabh
