I have Eudora 7.1 installed on my computer. How would I get an address
which is in my addess book onto "To:" on my message page. Thank you.

Open the address book so all the buttons show.

1)highlight the nickname for the address.

See that button labeled "To:"
2) Click it
NB "CC:" and "Bcc" work the same way
Repeat steps until all recipient have be selected.

Got a name you use a lot? Tick the box "Recipient list. Now you can use "New
Message To", "Forward To" from the Message Menu.

Caution:

Use of "Recipient List" check box in my Address Book
causes all of the direct insertions in my Recipient list
to be periodically completely wiped out.

An alternative to using the "Recipient List" check box
is to select (highlight) the Address book entry name,
then "Special" | "Add as Recipient" (this is how
any selected text may be directly added to the Recipient List),
avoiding those check boxes to remove risk of the address book
mechanism occasionally wiping out the rest of the Recipient List;
the only difference will be not showing the address book items
in a bold font.

If, however, you never directly insert anything else
into your Recipient List, then this bug will not affect you,
because an occasional wipe out of the entire recipient list
will have nothing to wipe out (the Address Book may
keep re-inserting checked names back into the list anyway,
which perhaps is when other existing items are vulnerable
to being lost during that process).

Keeping a current backup copy of "rcpdbase.txt" (Recipient List)
is another way to quickly recover from any wipe-out.

I'm unclear why using the recipient list is desirable. I don't see a
BCC option. It's easy enough to pick and choose a group within the
address book by holding down the Ctrl key and selecting names.

It's unadvisable to include more than one person in any area that can
be read or saved by another computer. Sure as night follows day,
somebody will hit reply to all and then your friend's email addresses
are in the hands of complete strangers who may not be as careful with
their virus/trojan protection as you are. Worst of all, your friends
are suddenly getting email from complete strangers.... because *you*
didn't BCC.

Recipient list is more like "very frequently used" addresses (Like: My Sister,
My Boss, Co workers...)
I agree it would not be a good idea to mix /Casual Strangers/ and /Family
Friends/ on a To: or CC: list.
