Try holding down the option key when emptying the trash. If that doesn't work, try ejecting any secondary volumes you have attached (external drives, disk images, etc) and see if the file disappears. When you said invisible, I and probably many others thought of "hidden" files What you are describing is probably a file with an icon that is transparent or empty. In list view, can you select it and do "get info"? Go down to the permissions section, expand it, and see who owns it. Same for the directory it is in. -- Wes Groleau Some schools are cutting back on homework … http://Ideas.Lang-Learn.us/russell?itemid=1508

Also download and try (if you have OSX.5 or lower) download and install AppleJack. To run you must run it from Single User Mode (Command S held down as restarting). then run through all the items. do them in sequence. and do 3 and 4 twice. once for system and once for user. After you quit and restart. the computer will take a long time to restart even with period of Blue Screen while system caches are rebuilt. Will make the system fly for a while until it gets bogged down again. -- Phillip M. Jones, C.E.T. "If it's Fixed, Don't Break it" http://www.phillipmjones.net mailto:pjones1(a)kimbanet.com |
