From: shakey on 2 Jan 2010 16:27 I am running XP V3 with OE6 as my mail program. I have had no previous problem getting attachments from this or any party but today they have sent it to me three times. I see no attachment paperclip or otherwise but others receiving same email are getting the attachment. I am running Avast and it shows no log entry regarding this message. Any thoughts on if it could be something here that changed? Mel
From: Bruce Hagen on 2 Jan 2010 16:34 If you check the message source, (Ctrl+F3), do you see the encoding for the attachment? If not, it was never actually sent. Also, see it they are using MS Outlook. If they are, have them format the message in Plain Text. OE can't understand Outlook's RTF, (Rich Text Format), and will never see the attachment. -- Bruce Hagen MS-MVP [Mail] Imperial Beach, CA "shakey" <NOONE(a)NOWHERE.NET> wrote in message news:%23kqDaJ$iKHA.5020(a)TK2MSFTNGP02.phx.gbl... >I am running XP V3 with OE6 as my mail program. > I have had no previous problem getting attachments from this or any > party but today they have sent it to me three times. > I see no attachment paperclip or otherwise but others receiving same > email are getting the attachment. > I am running Avast and it shows no log entry regarding this message. > > Any thoughts on if it could be something here that changed? > > Mel >

From: shakey on 3 Jan 2010 15:50 PA Bear -- Bruce Thank you both I see the message was sent from outlook 12 however they say they have always sent me messages w/attachments this way. Everyone else has received it but I believe they all use outlook not OE. I guess it was the format. No longer important as I received it from then as inline now. But at least now you have the reason for it, which you can share with those senders. Hope you didn't just ignore the advice you received from the other posters.
