For quick and simple jobs I use Freecommander but if you want an external stand alone, I've also used Ant Renamer, BRU or Flexible Renamer. 2. For medium size jobs (eg multiple regex's, several presets) I would recommend: ReNamer (den4b) or the already suggested Advanced Renamer. 3. For heavy lifting: PFrank I use FreeCommander everyday so I can usually get away with its built in renamer. For jobs that require several steps, I have ReNamer (den4b) setup in the toolbar (opens with selected files or folders) with several of my favorite presets that I have worked out (eg rename music files, rename music folders etc). Its a messy interface (and even a bit ugly) but I still also have PFrank in a pulldown menu (ie not used often) as it can do amazing things. For example I followed the instructions in the forums to install the mediainfo dll and modify the user plugin python script to include the mediainfo detected metadata. Now I can append aspect ratio, framerate, width x height to the filenames of videos. Makes life easy if you are about to trancode several (or even lots) of video files and want to know at a glance how to set the target parameters. (Incidentally, if you are only interested in AVI's ReNamer will do it straight up. It's got pretty good metadata support out of the box but just not quite as good as the full mediainfo.dll integration of PFrank... but what a hassle to get it working...) W4tch3r ‹•¿•› |
