I unsuccesfully tried to update bootcamp to version 2.1 both
automatically through software update in windows xp and manually. It
gave the dreaded errors occurred while installing ... error.
I finally found this: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1845
When I enter the command as follows:
msiec /update ./BCUpdateXP.msp
(in the directory C:/Documents and Settings/mh/Local
Settings/Application Data/Apple/Apple Software Update
where software update put the update
BCUpdateXP.map
Recognized as windows installer patch by windows, 231'140 kb big

I only get an error message
Windows Installer
This patch package could not be opened. Verify that the patch package
exists and that you can access it, or contact the application vendor to
verify that it is a valid Windows Installed patch package.

What could I do to get that working?
