From: Tasker on 15 Mar 2010 21:41 I have a pda that will not hotsync to outlook 97, but will to outlook 98. Can I get an upgrade or do I need to spend $149.00 for 2007?
From: LD55ZRA on 15 Mar 2010 22:13 Outlook 98 was a free upgrade for people who already had Outlook 97. However, it is not on Microsoft website anymore so your best option will be to Google for it and see if you can download from somewhere. Alternatively, you will need to buy old Outlook 98 books that had CD inside of the back cover. hth "Tasker" <Tasker(a)discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:0FDC71A2-C204-487B-8E04-8A09CA2ADC48(a)microsoft.com... >I have a pda that will not hotsync to outlook 97, but will to outlook 98. > Can I get an upgrade or do I need to spend $149.00 for 2007?
From: Diane Poremsky [MVP] on 15 Mar 2010 22:50 What OS do you have? If its as old as Outlook, your options are limited to old versions of Outlook. If its WinXP or later, I'd buy Office 2007 and get the free upgrade to 2010. See http://www.slipstick.com/emo/2010/up100311.htm#2 for details. Small Business 2007 might be the best value and will get you office 2010 pro. -- Diane Poremsky [MVP - Outlook] Outlook Tips: http://www.outlook-tips.net/ Outlook & Exchange Solutions Center: http://www.slipstick.com/ Outlook Tips by email: mailto:dailytips-subscribe-request(a)lists.outlooktips.net EMO - a weekly newsletter about Outlook and Exchange: mailto:EMO-NEWSLETTER-SUBSCRIBE-REQUEST(a)PEACH.EASE.LSOFT.COM Do you sync your mailbox with a smartphone or pda? http://forums.slipstick.com/showthread.php?t=39473 "Tasker" <Tasker(a)discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:0FDC71A2-C204-487B-8E04-8A09CA2ADC48(a)microsoft.com... > I have a pda that will not hotsync to outlook 97, but will to outlook 98. > Can I get an upgrade or do I need to spend $149.00 for 2007?

My opinion is that if you have no intention of using Windows Vista or Windows 7, you locate Outlook 2002 on Ebay or Amazon and use that. Personally, any PDA that syncs with Outlook 97 should also sync with anything up to Outlook 2002. -- Brian Tillman [MVP-Outlook] |
