From: SecureLend on 29 Dec 2009 12:17 I had all the computers on the same workgroup and i could see all for a long time. Now when i go to each computer and click on the work group to view the other computers. The computer i am on cannot even find itself an says you may not have permissions..etc..network path not found. I even changed the workgroup name on all computers and it did not matter. Not sure when i lost the ability to view a work group....i changed routers a few months back? I can still print from the computers to my network printers. "Bob Lin (MS-MVP)" wrote: > Have you enabled the sharing on the other 2 computers? From: Jack [MVP-Networking] on 29 Dec 2009 19:07 Hi Make sure that the Software Firewall on each computer allows free local traffic. If you use 3rd party Firewall On, Vista/XP Native Firewall should be Off, and the active Firewall has to adjusted to your Network IP numbers on what is some time called the Trusted Zone (consult your 3rd Party Firewall instructions. General example, http://www.ezlan.net/faq#trusted Windows XP File Sharing - http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;304040 Printer Sharing XP -http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/networking/expert/honeycutt_july2.mspx Windows Native Firewall setting for Sharing XP -http://support.microsoft.com/kb/875357 When done hard reboot all network computers and the Router.
