From: cj on 16 Feb 2010 18:17 New computer. I have set up my profile without email connections and have imported my old (Outlook 2007) .pst file. I can edit my old calendar entries which were imported. But can't add new calendar entries. Error message "You do not have appropriate permissions to do this operation". Can anyone suggest how this can be fixed.
From: Judy Gleeson (MVP Outlook) on 17 Feb 2010 04:24 Please explain how you "imported" the PST file, as truly importing causes numerous problems. From: cj on 18 Feb 2010 16:41 I chose <import & export wizard> <import from another program or file> which was copied to my desktop. I had checked that it was not read only before importing. If you want to access the data in the PST exactly as it exists in the PST, open the PST, don't import it. In Outlook, click File>Open>Outlook Data File. You can even make the process easier by simply reusing the original PST as the default PST by adding the old PST to the mail profile using the Mail applet and then setting that PST as default. When you open Outlook then, it will look exactly as it did before. -- Brian Tillman [MVP-Outlook] |
