From: DavidF on 30 Dec 2009 10:22 Hi Tom, If you are trying to suggest that these Publisher built websites do not produce standards compliant, error free code, then that is true. I did not assert otherwise. Heck, even www.Google.com has 42 errors and two warnings and http://www.microsoft.com/en/us/default.aspx has 395 errors and 34 warnings. Nor was I addressing Ron's assertion that one should never use Publisher to build a website and that would always lead to problems. I know better than to take on that argument in this group <g>. I just provided the sites so you could compare the source code against the OP site code to see that it was not produced with Publisher 2000, 2002, 2003 or 2007, and to say that in my experience not having a specific version of Publisher installed on a local computer has nothing to do with the problems with that page/site rendering in IE. From: Tom Willett on 30 Dec 2009 10:56 But, you can see Google content, can't you? Well, if you want people to see the content on your web, you're going to have to make some changes. If you don't care whether they see it, then you're good to go. Neither Publisher nor Word is intended for making a web site. If you are using either of those applications to build all or part of your web pages, you need to post in the appropriate newsgroup, as it's not a FrontPage issue. -- Tom [Pepper] Willett Microsoft MVP - FrontPage Since 1997 --------------------------- "DavidF" <Nope(a)nospam.com> wrote in message news:OhfK5QWiKHA.1236(a)TK2MSFTNGP04.phx.gbl... : Hi Tom, : : If you are trying to suggest that these Publisher built websites do not : produce standards compliant, error free code, then that is true. From: DavidF on 30 Dec 2009 11:49 Tom, I am confused. I am not the original poster. I was just trying to suggest that the problem the OP was having had nothing to do with Publisher as was suggested by Ron. I just posted the links to the 4 publisher built websites to show Ron or anyone else that was interested why I didn't believe the OP site code is Publisher generated code. I also wanted Ron to know that it didn't matter whether you had a particular version of Publisher installed locally or not...I have them all installed and the OP site does not render for me either. I don't know what the OP used to build the page with, and I don't have any idea why the page does not render in IE, but the point is that I don't believe it has anything to do with Publisher. My intent was not to discuss or debate the use of any other program to build a website. Perhaps you meant for the OP to run www.bridgeoflife.us through the markup validator: http://validator.w3.org/ , though your post was a response to my message. Sorry if my response was OT. And sorry if the additional information I provided just confused the issue.
