I wouldn't consider copy/pasting queries an IT job, unless it was part of larger responsibilities, such as QA. "Data Analyst" is just a title and can mean many different things. In the context of IT, responsibilities might include data modeling, database documentation or decision support. -- Hope this helps. Dan Guzman SQL Server MVP http://weblogs.sqlteam.com/dang/

To break into the IT field, you must have solid SQL skills. I have been in the industry over 12 years now and recently started training fresh graduates to break into the IT field as expert SQL Server developers. To get your first real IT job, you must focus on developing your skil lset in one IT area. If you are trying to get that job working with SQL server, 1) You must at least have an undergrad degree. Enrolling in a Masters program in IT would be even better. 2) Look at all the job posting out there (Monster/Dice etc.)and get a sense of all the common requirements in those postings 2) Research those topics and make sure you are up to speed on related topics 3) Make sure your resume reflects your knowledge of those topics 4) Have your resume reviewed by someone in the field....I can review your resume (free of charge) 5) Practice the interview questions. Practice until you are so good, no one can turn you down. 6) Take the Microsoft cert exam...it looks good on a resume. evergreenyellow_20008 wrote: >i searched a job in sql server but i got a job as data analyst in one bpo. >The work was like just copying and pasting the sql queries. > >I want to know is this IT related job or a bpo related.
