From: Sleb on 4 Jun 2010 10:36 Hi, From a windows 2008 dc using gpo, I'm trying to deploy uphclean on my xp workstations. I've deployed .msi apps before without any problems but this one is a service that installs. I've tried to assign to computers with elevated privileges, deploy to users, all the possibilities. The only thing I was able to do is to make it a choice in add/remove programs to install from there. Since there is no extensions retated to uphclean, it will not install automatically. When assigning to computers, I see in the event viewer of the workstations that the gpo was applied, but it doesn't say that uphclean was installed. No errors found in event viewer, no service installed, no program files sub directory created, etc.... Using rsop and gpresult, I see that the computer receives the gpo properly. I'm sure it's not a permission since no errors, domain computers and domain users have read and apply gpo. Executing the .msi directly from the share, it installs no problem. Does anyone ever deployed by gpo something that installs as a service? I have no problems with applications. Am i missing something? Thanks

I know I'm not much help other than to confirm it's doable. Cleve
