The Setup Guide (at http://documentation.openoffice.org/setup_guide2/index.html#12)
for installing Open Office on Slackware have not been updated since
OpenOffice2. They don't make it clear what desktop integration
package you should use.

openoffice.org3.2-freedesktop-menus-3.2-9472.noarch.rpm
openoffice.org3.2-mandriva-menus-3.2-9472.noarch.rpm
openoffice.org3.2-redhat-menus-3.2-9472.noarch.rpm
openoffice.org3.2-suse-menus-3.2-9472.noarch.rpm

Presumably it's not mandriva, redhat, or suse. That leaves
"freedesktop". Does anyone know if that works?

Use the Slackbuild for OO.o available at slackbuilds.org.

It's simple, clean, and integrates just fine.

Yes, it seems the "freedesktop" package completes the installation,
and I am able to launch Open Office in KDE.

Thanks for the input.

Next time, I'll probably go with Slackbuild.
